The decision of “American Idol” May 19 has not shocked many viewers as on Tuesday night Casey James delivered the weakest performance among the three contestants. While Crystal Bowersox’s rendition of Melissa Etheridge’s “Come To My Window” and “Maybe I’m Amazed” of Paul McCartney was praised by the judges, Casey James‘ rendition of Eric Hutchinson’s “OK, It’s Alright with Me” could not satisfy the judges and the audience. His performance was marked by many as dull and judge Simon Cowell went on to compare his rendition to a salad. Lee DeWyze also secured his portion in the final by impressing the judges with Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” and Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”.
As Ryan Seacrest announced the results, Casey James said that he is thankful for the opportunity that he got at the “American Idol” stage. He added that his journey till date in the “American Idol” has been amazing and that he is honored to have come so far in the show. After the “American Idol” May 19 result episode, the show is left with few final episodes and performances by the contestants.
