Swastik show inspired by Muqaddar ka Sikander?

April 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):A few weeks back, we’d first reported on Swastik Pictures producing a daily for Colors. Bollywood actor Rahul Roy was approached to play a paternal role. Apparently, the actor is yet to respond to this proposal thus it’s unlikely that one will see Roy in the show.
One thing certain though is that this untitled daily is loosely inspired by the 1978 blockbuster Muqqadar ka Sikander which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna.
A reliable source informs, “The show is loosely based on Muqqadar ka Sikander wherein a poor boy works as a domestic in a rich man’s house. Here, he befriends his daughter. The boy is accused of stealing a toy and thrown out of the house. Years later, he returns as a rich man and destiny sees him meeting up with his childhood sweet heart again”
Meanwhile, Rahul Roy is said to be busy with his Bhojpuri film and plus, he’s said to be producing a Nepalese film too.
“Rahul has other commitments. He’s so far not responded to the offer. The production house is mulling over other names. Presently, Swastik is conducting auditions for the children. The kids will feature for 10 episodes. The show is expected to air from 31 May at 9.00 pm slot,” the source added.
Colors and Swastik Pictures are obviously keeping things close to their chest. Keep watching this space for more on this show.
