Rockers RADIOHEAD raised over $500,000 (GBP312,500) for the Haiti earthquake relief effort by staging a hastily-arranged concert in Los Angeles on Sunday night (24Jan10).

The British band halted recording sessions to play a show at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Hollywood - and auctioned off tickets online over the weekend.

One fan paid $4,000 (GBP2,500) for a pair of seats at the show and the band raised a staggering $573,000 (GBP358,125) from the one-night stand, dubbed Radiohead for Haiti.

Celebrity couple Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, Flea, Drew Barrymore and Anna Paquin were among the crowd for the sold out two-hour show.
