LONDON - Simon Cowell’s namesake arch rival Simon Fuller has blasted the X Factor boss calling the show nothing more than the TV equivalent of wrestling.

Fuller, 49, is believed to be mad at Cowell for quitting the American Idol after he made a 100million pound deal to launch an American version of The X Factor.

The American Idol boss said the show would do well even if Cowell is not there because the talent hunt show has a “boxing-type” purity and is only about gifted singers.

“I want Idol to be purely about talent…We’re not going to be led into the mud, we’re going to stay on our hill,” the Mirror quoted Fuller, as saying.

“The Susan Boyle phenomenon is not based on anything but the bizarre,” he added.

He also said: “I have integrity about music and believe talent that comes out of Idol is legitimate.”

Many believe Fuller is jealous of Cowell’s success.

A source said: “Fuller has got brains and instinct but has the personality of a wet weekend in Hastings.”

The insider said, “Cowell has the lot”, adding: “This could get very messy.”

“It seems Mr Fuller has a lot of issues which he needs to work through,” a US telly source said. (ANI)

They are in joint venture as Pretty Records I read, so does this mean one will bail out of that and all other joint-efforts I wonder? I hear Simon Fuller has now teamed-up with Perez Hilton?
