HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA (GaeaTimes.com) -The Critics Choice Awards 2010, was held on Friday the 15th at the Hollywood Palladium, Hollywood, California.

This was the 15th year for the Critics Choice Awards and the 2009 movies and actors were felicitated at this 2010 held event. Movies including ‘Inglorious Basterds’ ‘Avatar’ and “Up in the Air’ went home with awards. ‘The Hurt Locker’, was the one which walked away with the Best Picture of the Year. Kathryn Bigelow was the won who won Best Director and the biggest surprise of the show was when the Best actress award was shared by Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock. The ‘Original Screenplay’ award went to Quentin Tarantino, who may look forward to winning another Oscar this time over. The movie, ‘The Hangover’ won a very well-deserved best comedy movie award, as it had indeed turned out to be everyone’s favorite comedy last year.

Jeff Bridges took home the Best Actor award for his much-appraised work in Crazy Heart and so did Christoph Waltz for the Best Supporting Actor for his part in Inglorious Basterds. Though the fans thought Anna Kendrick was the best in ‘Up in the air’, she lost the Best Supporting Actress to Mo’nique for Precious. Avatar was the most heard name in the Palladium yesterday, having won six awards. Avatar’s kitty was full with Best action movie, Best cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, Best VFX and Best Sound.

The Critics Choice Awards 2010 saw many performances among which, one was Nick Jonas- who took the stage and rocked the audiences with R&B and pop. ‘Who I Am’, his band’s debut was played to the immense pleasure of those present.
