Avatar scores high!

Gross collections from paid previews for Avatar across India amount to Rs 1 Crore- highest for any Hollywood film in India!

Collections from CI single screens were also extremely encouraging, with theatres in Delhi, Bihar, Lucknow, Kanpur, Bhopal, Allahabad, Varanasi, Jalandhar, Jammu going houseful on opening day.

Directed by James Cameron and produced by 20th Century Fox, Avatar is an epic action adventure. The film was first conceived by Cameron 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist.

Starring Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver and Zo Saldana, Avatar is the story of a wounded ex-marine, thrust unwillingly into an effort to settle and exploit an exotic planet rich in bio-diversity, who eventually crosses over to lead the indigenous race in a battle for survival.

Cameron again combines elements of massive spectacle and intimate character to tell a relatable and emotional tale.

Avatar was released worldwide on Dec 18 in 2D as well as 3D. In India, the film is dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
