Brown Spurred On By Criticism
By WENNSunday, December 6, 2009
CHRIS BROWN is turning the negative criticism he’s received in the aftermath of his attack on ex-girlfriend RIHANNA into positive energy to help him become a better person.
The shamed singer fell from public favour in February (09) when he was arrested and charged for beating the Umbrella beauty.
He pleaded guilty to the assault in July (09) and was sentenced to six months hard labour, five years’ probation and ordered to stay away from Rihanna for the duration of his punishment.
Brown admits he’s still bearing the brunt of the public backlash 10 months after the incident, but he’s refusing to let it get him down - instead, he’s using the cutting comments to spur him on and mature into a stronger man.
In an interview with TV newswoman Robin Roberts, which aired in the U.S. on Friday (04Dec09), Brown said, “I think just being not ridiculed, but criticised and scrutinised by a lot of people and being able to see who I am as a person, it’s just shaped me to be a better and stronger young black male.”
