Grammy Nominees 2010 Announced

Los Angeles- The Grammy Nominees 2010 were announced on Wednesday at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Pop diva Beyonce Knowles ruled the nominations night as she received a whopping ten nominations for her third album “I Am… Sasha Fierce” which turned out to be immensely successful after its release in November 2008. However, Taylor Swift who has dominated most the other popular awards show this year was not far behind as the young singer grabbed eight nominations including the categories of record, album and song of the year.
Other Grammy Nominees 2010 included Lady GaGa, who received around five Grammy recognition for her successful album ‘The Fame’. Multiple nominations were also received by the much acclaimed band Black Eyed Peas, which has been nominated in five categories. Rapper Kanye West also received six nominations as a featured artist. Meanwhile, apart from Beyonce, Lady GaGa, Black Eyed Peas and Taylor Swift, the much coveted ‘Album of the Year’ category also includes the Dave Matthews Band.
In the category of ‘Best country performance by a duo or group with vocals’, the nominated artist include Brooks & Dunn, Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts and Sugarland. Apart from these, the nominations for the ‘Song of the Year’ category which gives recognition to the songwriters includes Lady Gaga’s”Pokerface”; Maxwell’s “Pretty Wings”; Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”; Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody” and Swift, “You Belong with Me.”
The winner among the Grammy Nominees 2010 would be announced during the main Grammy Awards ceremony which is scheduled to take place on January 31, 2010 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The awards have been decided from recordings that were released between Oct 2008 to Nov 2009 by around 12,000 voting members of the Recording Academy.
