LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Yet another animated show, “Bob’s Burgers”, aired its pilot episode on FOX at 8:30 p.m on Sunday, January 9. It has been created by Loren Bouchard, who also created other series like “Home Movies,” and “Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist”. Many people think, that although it was meant to be a comedy, it lacked enough comic elements in it.
The show revolves around the life of Bob Belcher, who owns a burger joint right next to It’s Your Funeral Home and Crematorium, that itself establishes the fact, that the family is silly with the least sense of entrepreneurship. Moreover, the protagonist undergoes tremendous trouble for having an infuriated and nagging wife like Linda. To make the matter worse, his grill cook, who happens to be his eldest daughter Tina, suffers from “itchy” crotch. Even his son, Gene is a good for nothing boy, and apparently makes no contribution to the business. The youngest Louise, has a big mouth and spreads the rumor that his family uses human meat from the nearby cemetery, in order to spice up the business. As a result, right on the pilot episode of “Bob’s Burgers”, the Bob Belcher, who aims to re-re-re-re-open the business, is subjected to the wrath of the health inspector, who also happens to be Linda’s ex-boyfriend. Funny dialogues like, “Keep ‘Me’ out of Meat” and “Don’t Taste Me Bro”, marks the occasional humor in the show.
The main USP about this show is that, all the voices, both male and female, has been lent by males only in “Bob’s Burgers”. The protagonist’s voice has been lent by H. Jon Benjamin and Linda’s voice by John Roberts. Some people called the show pointlessly vulgar, for the irrelevant way in which it has projected the pop-culture. Yet, considering it was a pilot episode, a lot better can be expected out of it.
