PUNE - Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff was transported to the days of his hit film “Hero” when a flautist who was roped in for designer Deepak Shah’s Pune Fashion Week (PFW) show Saturday started playing the theme tune of the 1983 blockbuster.
Jackie and Sunil Shetty made their appearance felt at PFW as guests to support Shah’s show. Ballroom dancing expert Sandip Sopparkar was the show stopper who sashayed down the ramp to the live notes of flute in a gold embellished sherwani with a touch of maroon.
However, the audience applause increased manifold when Shah asked Jackie and Sunil to join him on the ramp once the display of the collection was over.
The flute player then started playing the theme music of “Hero”, while Jackie and Sunil walked the ramp. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the music and the steps of the star of the film matching it.
When asked why he didn’t become the show stopper for the designer, Jackie, who was wearing white linen pants and black blazer, said: “I’m happy being the guest and I did walk the ramp later. Just wanted to support him and nothing else.”
Sunil was also happy to be at the show and revealed that he simply loved the all-men collection.
“The collection was simply amazing. The style, the clothes, the accessories, everything was perfect. Deepak has been designing for me in most of my films, so I am happy to be here to support him,” Sunil told IANS.
The collection included club wear to classically tailored suits for evening and corporate wear. The show also highlighted belts, leather bags and the designer’s signature line of shoes.
Soparrkar said: “Shah has been dressing me since 1996, so it felt great walking the ramp for him. I’ve seen him evolve and changing his style according to latest trends and changing choices. His collection was simply outstanding.”
