Model Priyanshi Chowdhury Dead: Suicide or Murder?

Priyanshi Chowdhury aka Rinky Chowdhury, a model and actor was found dead in her flat in Goregaon on Thursday, by her boyfriend Sahil Malik, 28.

Priyanshi was from Kolkata, but was living in Vallabh society on Oshiwara Link Road since 2005. She was in a relationship with Sahil for past one year and was planning to get married within a week.

According to a past producer, Priyanshi was a strong girl and couldn’t believe that she could have committed suicide. But, her mother Kanisha, who stays in Kolkata reported that her daughter was in serious depression, owing to her heart ailment.

Although police report suggests that the death was due to constriction of neck due to ligature marks, whether the death is a suicide can only be confirmed after the chemical analysis arrives.

As of now, police have detained Sahil. Sources suggest that Priyanshi was receiving threatening calls, SMSes from Shamli Jain, supposed to be Sahil’s ex-girlfriend. The girl was found constantly warning Priyanshi against Sahil.

Chowdhury had been receiving calls and SMSes from Jain for the past 15 days. Some of the messages advised her against marrying Malik

, senior inspector Surendra Paithankar said.

On Thursday around 05:30 PM, Malik found Priyanshi hanging herself at her flat. He told police that he tried to cut the rope and poured some water into her mouth, but she didn’t respond. She was rushed to hospital, where the doctor declared dead. The body was sent to Cooper hospital for postmortem.
