Is it Dhanush Vs Silambarasan for Diwali 2010?

September 22, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Dhanush and Silambarasan have always been the box office rivals as their films released together create big sensation amongst their fans. Now as these young actors have emerged as the most profitable actors of box office, expectations have become bigger with their upcoming releases.

If what we heard from closer sources is believed to be true, then Silambarasan’s Vaanam and Dhanush starrer Utthamaputhiran will hit screens together for Diwali 2010.

Silambarasan’s Vaanam went on floors before couple of months only. Since it is a quickie, director Krish is planning to complete the film’s shooting within short span of time. The film doesn’t call for Simbhu’s longer call-sheets as it is a multi-starrer film with Bharath, Sneha Ullal, Prakash Raj and Sonia Agarwal playing lead roles. Director Krish is now shooting the portions of these actors just as Simbhu is filming his other project Poda Podi in London.

Meanwhile Dhanush’s Utthamaputhiran is close on the heels of completion as just a song is left to be shot. The film is produced by Gemini Film Circuit and is directed by Jawahar Mithran, whose previous films with Dhanush – Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Kutty were big hits. The film is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Ready and Genelia D’Souza plays the female lead role.

It’s worth mentioning that Ready is remade in Hindi as well with Salman Khan and Asin donning the lead roles. Bollywood producers are on plans of remaking Vedam in Hindi as well.
