Sandra Bullock to be honored at MTV Movie Awards

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — All eyes at the MTV Movie Awards will be on Sandra Bullock when she accepts the MTV Generation Award in her first televised appearance since she split with unfaithful husband Jesse James earlier this year.

“Parks and Recreation” star Aziz Ansari is hosting Sunday night’s fan-favorite award ceremony, to be broadcast live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif. The 27-year-old actor and comedian says he will also perform a musical number “in the style of my R&B hero, R. Kelly.”

The show will feature other performances by Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg and Christina Aguilera, and footage from the forthcoming “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Presenters include Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz and Robert Pattinson.

Bullock made a surprise appearance Saturday night at Spike TV’s “Guys Choice” event in Culver City, Calif., but that show won’t be broadcast until June 20. She received a standing ovation when she accepted the “Troops Choice” Award for Entertainer of The Year, from presenter Robert Downey, Jr. The award was voted on by members of the military.

The 45-year-old actress has kept a low profile since James’ affair became public shortly after she won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in “The Blind Side” on March 7.
