Ilayaraja Celebrates A Meaningful Birthday

June 4, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Music composer Ilayaraja fondly called as Isai Gnani celebrated his birthday on the 2nd of June. He completes 66 years of life and is now 67 years old. His birthday was celebrated in the Prasad Studios. G Shiva, the director of Kulasekaranum Koolipadayum made the necessary arrangements for this function. Thousands of the poor and needy people were fed on this occasion.
Ilayaraja who participated in this function said,” I was born in 1943. My birthday coincides with the birthday of Chief Minister Kalaignar. I had born a few seconds after Kalaignar. Since I did not want to celebrate my birthday on the day the great scholar was born, I had pre-poned my birthday celebrations by a day. This is my gratefulness towards Tamil. I do like to celebrate my birthday but I don’t like this lavishness. They told me that they are feeding thousand people and that is why I have come.”
As of now Ilayaraja has now decided to score music as many as projects possible. According to the sources, he has signed 4 Bollywood projects amongst which one will be directed and produced by ‘Paa’ fame Balki and another one by Amitabh Bachchan.
