LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- With “So You Think You Can Dance” premiering its seventh season on Thursday, the show has come up with some notable changes. The most prominent among them is the judge of the reality dance show. Mia Michaels, the renowned choreographer will judge the ten pair of contestants who will dance to ballroom or ballet numbers, or may also perform to salsa or hip hop tracks. In the new format introduced by the producers of the show, there will be only ten instead of the twenty performers on stage.
The 8 pm show on Fox will from now on see Mia Michaels instead of Mary Murphy on the judge’s seat. The perfectionist that she is, Mia Michaels says that she will also expect every one of the performers to abide by the rules in any dance form. To her dance is a form of craft, and she will give points to the contestants based on the amount of hard work that they put on their practice and performance and the skill they show while dancing. Even though she is judging a purely commercial show, every participant will have to keep these things in mind while performing in front of her says the judge.
Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman will also grace “So You Think You Can Dance” as judges along with Mia Michaels. The choreographer can eliminate only one dancer at the end of each episode said the producers. Also this time the producers have decided to bring back previously eliminated candidates back into its fold, it is these candidates who will perform on the stage of “So You Think You Can Dance”.
