The show will go on for the ZAC BROWN BAND and ALISON KRAUSS at this weekend’s (15-16May10) inaugural Hangout Festival in Alabama, despite the massive oil spill on the event’s shores.

Instead of cancelling the event, organisers have decided to use the festival as a way of raising funds and relief for those mopping up the offshore oil leak from the exploded Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig near the Gulf Coast.

Festival bosses are calling for volunteers to help recovery efforts in the area in between headliner sets by Zac Brown, Krauss, the Black Crowes, John Legend and the Roots.

Music fans are also being encouraged to bring donations and supplies.

The Gulf Shores event kicks off on Friday (14May10).

The oil spill has been dubbed an environmental disaster.
