Rapper LIL WAYNE has laughed off reports he’s struggling to offload one of his apartments in Miami, Florida because it stinks of marijuana, insisting the odour has instead proved to be a unique selling point.

The Lollipop hitmaker placed a three-bedroom, two bathroom South Beach condominium on the market for $520,000 (£325,000) late last year (09).

Real estate dealers had to warn prospective buyers about the strong pot smell prior to showing the apartment, according to the New York Post.

One source recalls of his visit, “A member of Wayne’s posse opened the door to the overwhelming smell of marijuana. Two hot, rap-video-looking girls were walking around in nothing but a bra and underwear, blasting hip-hop. We just went in and looked around and tried not to stare.”

But Wayne is convinced the overwhelming odour has not been a selling setback, even though the property has yet to be sold - because wealthy fans have been flocking to the apartment to check out the place the rapper once called home.

He says, “We’re not having trouble selling it… The people that (sic) are coming to look at it like that (the marijuana smell) more about it. That’s like waking in Bob Marley’s crib (home) and you still smelling weed and his bed still messed up, and food still on the table (sic). You’re like, ‘Leave all that s**t. I want to buy all that s**t.’”

Wayne recently admitted he’d never given up his drug habit. He told Rolling Stone magazine, “I smoke weed all day. I’m a very successful addict. And a smart one. And a very charismatic one.”

Prison-bound Wayne recently put his second luxury South Beach home up for sale for $2.8 million (£1.75 million).

The rapper is expected to be sentenced to a year behind bars for weapons possession when he appears in a New York court on 2 March (10).
