Oprah Winfrey Ending Talk Show?

Los Angeles- A spokesperson for the Chicago based company that Oprah Winfrey owns, Harpo, said to the press that Oprah Winfrey is ending the talk show that she hosts, the “Oprah Winfrey Show.” The show will be taken off air in the year 2011, as it will be announced at the end of the show on Friday. The show is a hugely popular one, and has featured luminaries from various sections of the society, her guest list including the likes of Barrack Obama and Sarah Palin from the world of politics and many celebrities from tinsel town including Tom Cruise.
It is not difficult to ascertain why Oprah Winfrey is ending her talk show. She has quite a busy schedule planned ahead of her, with the production of the Disney animated film “The Princess and The Frog” and the movie “Precious”, that is based on the novel by Sapphire. She is also about to launch a new television network, the OWN or the Oprah Winfrey Network in partnership with Discovery Network. So that is an explanation of her sudden decision to quit the absurdly popular show.

She has been among the top grossers and has retained her popularity and has not failed to attract sponsors even in the times of recession. Her witty handling of the most controversial issues has made the show one of the most popular among the audience.
