LONDON - Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp has reportedly offered to help Nicolas Cage sort out his financial woes.
Cage has been forced to reassess his cash flow after being hit with a $6 million tax bill, allegedly due to his former financial adviser’s monetary mismanagement. Depp, who earns an estimated $68.8 million annually, is said to be eager to help his old friend out of his reported debt because Cage helped him land his first major role in “A Nightmare on Elm Street” in 1984, reports imdb.com.
“Johnny called Nic and basically told him not to worry and he’d help him and sort everything out. Johnny feels he owes his career to Nic and now wants to repay him - if Nic agrees. Johnny has never forgotten what Nic did for him,” said a source.
Cage has been busy offloading his property empire in a bid to boost his bank balance. He recently sold his Los Angeles mansion and a castle in Germany, while two of his multi-million dollar properties in New Orleans, Louisiana went under the hammer Nov 12.
