Bulgarian man ‘devastated’ over Gately’s death

LONDON - The Bulgarian man, who had joined Boyzone star Stephen Gately in an alleged eight hour drinking binge the night before he died, has said that he has been left devastated by the singer’s death.
Georgi Petrov Dochev has revealed that he immediately woke up the singer’s partner Andrew Cowles after seeing him lying dead.
“I am devastated. I came out of the bedroom and found Stephen dead. I woke the husband. It is awful - I am in shock and I’m ill with it. I haven’t slept a wink,” the Sun quoted him as saying.
“I was with the husband all yesterday. He was too upset to call the ambulance. He was holding Stephen, so I called them.
Georgi further briefed that both him and Cowles have been talking to the Majorcan police.
“We have talked to the police but I cannot talk about other things,” he added.
Georgi had joined Gately and Cowles at the Black Cat gay club in Majorca’s capital Palma after which they headed back to the pop star’s flat at Port Andratx.
However, Georgi refused to reveal much when asked he and Cowles had slept together.
“I cannot talk about that. I have been speaking to Andy throughout the day. I cannot comment on these things,” Georgi said.
Police believes that Cowles choked on his own vomit on October 10 after heavy drinking. (ANI)
