Jay-z Beats New Protegees In U.k. Chart Battle

JAY-Z has proved who’s boss - he has beaten his newly signed act the SUGABABES to the top of the U.K. charts with comeback single RUN THIS TOWN.
The trio signed to the 99 Problems star’s Roc Nation record label earlier this year (09) in a bid to crack America after several years as hitmakers in Europe.
And despite gaining an early lead on their boss in the mid-week charts, the girls’ Get Sexy hit came second to Jay-Z’s collaboration with Kanye
French DJ David Guetta’s joint effort with Akon, Sexy B**ch, slips to number three, while Dizzee Rascal and Chrome’s Holiday is at number four.
The Black Eyed Peas round out the top five in the U.K. singles chart.
