This is in response to Ekta Chaudhary’s comment on yahoo news which reads like this :’……What was disheartening was that none of the Asian girls made it to the final 15. It was a shock for all of us….There were definitely many beautiful girls around. But aren’t Asian girls beautiful? There should have been at least one Asian girl in the final list. It is ridiculous! If such things happen in an international pageant then we have every right to call them racist,’ she added. Let’s not for god sake bring down everything to ‘racism’…I understand racism is an issue of critical significance, but to see everything from than angle is wrong!! Asians could not make it to the top 15 does not mean that it was meant to discriminate them ….if this was the case then India and other asian countries would not have ever won. I am an Indian and a development professional and I cant myself tolerate any sort of dicrimination be it race, be it gender but I quite hate when we don’t show the sportsman spirit and make things complicated. Miss Universe competition is a sport where some win, others don’t make it to the victory stand…it is as simple as that!! Best, |
