NEW YORK - Police drama “The Beast”, which saw a cancer-stricken Patrick Swayze enacting the role of a FBI agent, has been axed.

According to imdb.com, “The Beast” wasn’t a big ratings hit when it first appeared on TV screens in the US earlier this year and executives at the A&E network have now confirmed there will be no more episodes.

Swayze, 56, shot for the show while battling pancreatic cancer and won acclaim for his portrayal of a tough FBI agent.

i purposely did not watch The Beast as i knew Patrick was dying and i could NOT watch such a wonderful and talented human work so hard at the end, he may have been doing exactly what he wanted to be doing but i would have rather have seen him enjoying his wife and family so close to the end as we all know pancreatic cancer equals death. There is no other way out of pancreatic cancer it being a truly painful cancer i just could not imagince nor want to imagine the pain he was going through. We truly lost a wonderful person, actor, husband to Lisa we know they had problems but what marriage doesn’t. I go through pain everyday myself and i somedays don’t want to be on this planet Patrick fought everyday for his life. God bless
