LONDON - British actress Lucy Punch, who is a relatively unknown face, will replace Nicole Kidman in Woody Allen’s untitled venture.
The actress wowed the writer-director with a screen test and secured the role that Kidman had taken in March and vacated weeks later, reports Hollywoodreporter.com.
Punch, 31, has starred on the CBS series “The Class” and had roles in “Hot Fuzz” and “Ella Enchanted”.
She will be joining Antonio Banderas, Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins in Allen’s project. Indian actress Freida Pinto is also playing a pivotal role in the movie, which will be shot in London this summer.
