Wynton Marsalis Appears On “60 Minutes”

Los Angeles (GaeaTimes.com)- With the dawn of the new year, it is also time for some great music. American master - Wynton Marsalis - at 49 years, is known to be the best living jazz artist as well as leader of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. This is probably the biggest and the best band that rules the world of jazz music. Yesterday, Wynton Marsalis, who is also America’s Music Ambassador appeared on the show “60 Minutes”. The performers of the band appeared on the show not to just perform, but also to teach people. Jazz music is unique of America, originating in New Orleans. The band seeks to spread this form of music to people residing in all corners of the world. Wynton Marsalis considers this tour to be his lifelong mission.
Lincoln Center Orchestra is constantly on travel. This globe-trotting band brings up America’s most distinctive form of art to the world. They are recently performing in cities like Berlin, London and Havana. They were performing in London when they showed up for “60 Minutes”. Morley Safer, the correspondent of this show followed the band wherever they went to perform. Morley Safer could be called as one lucky man who has the opportunity to travel with the band and enjoy the joyous experience that the members of the band share with people all over the world.
Ted Nash, the saxophone player of the band said that traveling with the band was a lovely experience. It gives them the opportunity to get in touch with a number of people hailing from different backgrounds. The audience acts as a kind of revitalizing factor, at times when the band members get worn out. Wynton Marsalis calls this form of art as a human heritage. His shows are a kind of a worthy mission of his life. His appearance in “60 Minutes” was an enthralling experience.
