The critics have weighed in on the movie and almost all of them are unanimous in their opinion that the movie is pure art and a celebration of contemporary Indian cinema. The critics have also rubbished the rumors that said that Guzaarish was a remake of the Hollywood film, ‘The Prestige’.
The story of Guzaarish revolves around Hrithik Roshan’s character who is paralyzed after an accident. Aishwarya Rai plays the nurse who takes care of him and the chemistry between the two has been called complex yet beautiful by all the critics. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who directed the film has also composed the music for the first and going by the reviews, he has surely hit the mark. Hrithik Roshan also happens to be a famous magician who recounts his happier days in a series of flashbacks that leaves the audience completely breathless.
One critic said that though the movie treads on the familiar path of showing the protagonist suffering from a life-changing illness, it manages to stand out for its stunning visuals and extra-ordinary acting. One also believes that the film might not after all be for the mainstream audience. ‘Guzaarish‘ has so far managed to create the necessary and in spite of the great critical reception in the reviews, it will be interesting to see the box office reports over the weekend.
