LONDON - For the first time ever, late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s dad has admitted that he used to beat the star.

“I would have punished him by whipping him with a strap or something when he did something wrong,” the Sun quoted Joe, Michael Jackson’s dad, as saying on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show.’

“It would have kept him out of trouble,” he said.

Joe was initially evasive about his relationship with Jackson, insisting, “I don’t think he was afraid of me.

“He was afraid he may do something wrong and I’d chastise him, but not beat him. I never beat him like the media tried to say,” he said.

But he had to confess when his wife Katherine told him, “You might as well admit it. That’s the way black people raised their children.” (ANI)
