‘Saw 3D’ tops weekend box-office with $24.2 million

WASHINGTON - Horror movie ‘Saw 3D’ topped the Halloween weekend box-office list, earning 24.2 million dollars.
It is the seventh and final instalment of the Saw film series, and the first in the series to be shot in 3D, E! Online reported.
‘Paranormal Activity 2′, which had been the weekend box-office hit week before last, was down to second place with 16.5 million dollars.
In third place was ‘Red’ with 10.8 million dollars, ‘Jackass 3D’ was in fourth with 8.4 million dollars, and ‘Hereafter’ was in fifth place with 6.3 million dollars.
The weekend’s top-grossing films compiled by Exhibitor Relations are:
Saw 3D - 24.2 million dollars
Paranormal Activity 2 - 16.5 million dollars
Red - 10.8 million dollars
Jackass 3D - 8.4 million dollars
Hereafter - 6.3 million dollars
Secretariat - 5.1 million dollars
The Social Network - 4.7 million dollars
Life As We Know It - 4.1 million dollars
The Town - 2 million dollars
