Howard Arenstein Arrested

WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- The Edward R. Murrow award-winning CBS news correspondent Howard Arenstein was arrested yesterday at his home after police found out that he was growing marijuana in his backyard. Along with the CBS Radio’s correspondent, his wife Orly Azoulay was also arrested for growing marijuana with an intention to distribute it.
Howard Arenstein won Edward R. Murrow award for Feature Reporting in 2002. The CBS Radio Correspondent won his second Edward R. Murrow award in 2006 in sports reporting for covering the Washington Nationals first home game. It surely came as a shock to the world that a news reporter could be busted on charges like growing marijuana plants. D.C. police spokesman Lt. Nicholas Breul reported that the police raided his home after they received complain about the radio bureau manager for CBS News. The police immediately issued a warrant against him and searched his house. After much search the law enforcement officials found out large marijuana plants in his backyard and also packed marijuana at his home.
The police reportedly found 11 marijuana plants which were minimum 8 foot-tall and also six two-ounce bags at his home. The law enforcement officials are of the opinion that Howard Arenstein kept the bags at home to distribute it for money. The CBS spokesperson declined to comment anything about the whole issue. Howard Arenstein’s wife Orly Azoulay is the correspondent of famous Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth. Howard Arenstein joined CBS News in 1984 as a writer and in 1987 he joined CBS Radio. Neither Howard Arenstein nor his wife has commented anything about the whole incident. The media could not report if Howard Arenstein has hired an attorney from his side.
