July 28, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): This is indeed a unique name for a Bengali movie. The movie name itself reflects the two very appropriate and quintessential aspects of the whole Bengali-hood so to speak. We are talking about ‘maach’ and ‘mishti’.
Maach, Mishti and More is a Bengali film that deals with the life and point of views of three brothers who all belong to a middle class Bengali family. The three siblings are played by Rudra, Ronnie, and Raj.
One finds love, one makes a discovery of himself and one re-evaluates his own reason in life. This is done all through a 120-minute joy ride. The movie is sure to make you go through a plethora of emotions; it would make you laugh, cry, and you would strongly recognize the perspective of each of the characters since they would depict the true spirit of the city.
The characters reflect an attitude and personality that has a fine blend of complexity, charm, cosmopolitan ambience, confusion amongst others. The characters would also be extremely loveable.
The movie has a host of experienced as well as popular character actors of the likes of Shauvik Kundagrami, Parambrata Chatterjee, Gaurab Chatterjee, who happens to be the grandson of Uttam Kumar, the legend. The female leads include Raima Sen, Mamata Shankar, Ira Dubey, and Swastika Mukherjee, while veterans like Soumitra Chatterjee and Biswajit Chakraborty complete the lineup. The movie would be released this year.
