Anu Malik Visits Nairobi

NAIROBI, KENYA (GaeaTimes.com)- Bollywood singer and music composer Anu Malik was in the city of Nairobi earlier this month to attend a private function organized by Rani Jamal. This was Anu Malik’s second visit to the city after a span of thirty years. Speaking to the media, the musician recalled his first visit to the city which was left almost unnoticed considering that he was not the star thirty years back which he is now. He had then performed with Shailendra Singh of the “Bobby” fame.

Performing along with Anu Malik at the Rani Jamal party was his own band, dancers which he brought with him from his city Mumbai and former contestants of reality television show “Indian Idol”, the show which the musician has been a part of for quite some time now. Anu Malik has been one of the judges of “Indian Idol” for the last three seasons of the show and this time too his weekend party at Nairobi was snatched from a break that he got from “Indian Idol 5″.

The Anu Malik performance at Rani Jamal’s weekend party was a hit no doubt, but the singers who accompanied the music composer to Nairobi were also in the best of forms. Among the “Indian Idol” contestants who visited Nairobi along with Anu Malik were Parleen Gill, one of the top 7 contestants of season 3 of “Indian Idol” and Manisha Karmakar, one of the top ten faces of this year’s singing competition. Sonali Salkar, a beginner in the Bollywood, who aims to be one of the most famous Bollywood singers some day also accompanied the “Indian Idol” kids.
