Naushad Ali Kawa Axed From “Indian Idol”

MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Viewers of reality television show “Indian Idol” and particularly the fans of Naushad Ali Kawa were extremely disappointed this week when their favorite contestant from Jaipur was shown the door, and that too the elimination coming as a result of the votes given by the audience themselves.

This episode which shows Naushad Ali Kawa leaving “Indian Idol” forever this season will be telecast on Sony today night. While the judges Anu Malik, Sunidhi Chauhan and Salim Merchant kept repeating the fact that the youth from Jaipur was one of the best singers this year, it was the ‘junta’ voting system, a system which has been much criticised in the past, that made him stop short of reaching the finals. The most surprising thing is that it was the same Naushad Ali Kawa who won the ‘Best Performer’ award just a week back.

According to reports from the sets of “Indian Idol”, the special guests for tonight’s episode, which will witness the unceremonious departure of Naushad Ali Kawa, will be rising stars Amitabh Bhattacharya and Amit Trivedi. When asked about the reasons that amounted to the Jaipur boy’s elimination, the spokesman for the show said that it was a calculation of the votes given by the public for the previous week’s Qawali performance and the gala episode which took place on Monday.

Like everyone else, Naushad Ali Kawa too is surprised, rather shocked at hearing the results. Considering the praise which he usually received from the judges, it was but natural for the young to think that he would go far, if not reach the finals of the “Indian Idol”.
