Jake Anderson’s father Keith Anderson went missing in January when Jake Anderson was out on The Northwestern (fishing boat) in the Bering Sea last January. People located Keith Anderson’s truck in a logging area of Darrington, WA, but they could not find him. On the last episode, Captain Sig Hansen and Jake Anderson’s uncle Nick reveals the news of his father being missing to Jake Anderson. The viewers knew it before that Keith Anderson is missing though. On the day when he disappeared he did his normal household works and helped his family and then went to meet a friend from where he never returned.

Apart from Jake Anderson’s going father missing, the episode also saw the other member of the show Phil Harris suffer a heart attack after he discovers his son possesses an addiction to drugs. When his son denied this, it ravaged his heart and he took the blame on him for not being there when his sons were growing up and said that he will not be able to overcome his guilt.

“Deadliest Catch” is a documentary of events aboard fishing boats in the Bering Sea during the Alaskan king crab and Opilio crab fishing seasons.
