LONDON - Legendary actress Dame Helen Mirren says she is glad England did not win their World Cup clash against the US.

The British actress made the unpatriotic comments on the David Letterman show.

The star, 64, also slammed Britain’s careworn oil firm, BP, whose deep-sea oil fix has massively polluted the US coast since it blew off.

“With the soccer, I was so relieved it was a draw,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

“If Britain had beaten America, what with BP - which to my mind stands for bloody p***-poor - I don’t think I could have come on this show.

“I would have been so embarrassed and mortified at being British that I think I would have had to cancel,” she added. (ANI)
