NEW DELHI - Many of you may have gone out on romantic dates, but when was the last time you went out alone with the man who brought you into this world? This Father’s Day, take your dad out for a scrumptious meal or pamper him, for a change, with a rejuvenating spa experience.

Eateries across the city have special offers for those who wish to take their father for an outing to celebrate Father’s Day Sunday.

If your father is a football fanatic and doesn’t want to miss the FIFA action, take him to Emperor’s Kitchen in Mehrauli - it is offering a double bonanza of watching the soccer World Cup live with one complimentary house beer or mocktail of your choice and retro music to dance on.

A meal for two would cost between Rs.1,500 and Rs.1,700.

On the other hand, The Tasty Tangles in DLF Promenade is organising a Father’s Day weekend from Friday-Sunday and will serve an array of Southeast Asian cuisine to mark the occasion.

Its special menu has wanton noodle soup with vegetable dumplings, spinach and sweet corn coup, Singaporean hot and sour soup with chicken and prawn and other such delicacies. Meal for two will come for Rs.1,000, excluding taxes.

If your dad is not a foodie, take him out for delicious cocktails at The Absolut Summer Orchard at Smoke House Grill and Smoke House Deli. To beat the summer heat in style, treat him to fruity concoctions like kiwi capriojka, plum and peach capriojka, smoked orange capriojka and watermelon capriojka. One glass of these drinks will cost you Rs.375 and for a pitcher you will have to shell out a minimum of Rs.1,500.

An entire meal at Smoke House Grill will come to about Rs.2,000 without taxes.

If your dad has a sweet tooth, book a place at Ruby Tuesday and dig into a chocolate tall cake, which has a slice of chocolate cake layered with chocolate mousse, chocolate and caramel sauces topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.

If these options don’t suit you, take your dad to a spa treatment. After weeks and months of hectic work schedules, this could be your way of telling him to relax and take a break.

Various hotels as well as spa centres are offering special packages for the day.

One can unwind with soothing massages, facials and body treatments, detoxifying wraps and revitalising scrubs, apart from experiencing Balinese massages, aroma therapy, ayurvedic massages and hydrotherapy at the Ishwar Spa by Blossom Kochhar.

The general treatments cost Rs.2,000 to Rs.3,000, while ayurvedic holistic therapies start somewhere around Rs.900 and special packages designed for Father’s Day will come at a price of Rs.5,500 to Rs.10,000.

Amattra has come up with specially designed packages with funky names like - ‘Dad’s Day Out’, ‘Tranquillity for Dad’, ‘Dad, You are the World’, ‘Dad, You are Hot’ - just for Father’s Day and most of these packages are above Rs.8,000.

Meanwhile, The Park hotel’s all day luxury spa is providing a choice between gift vouchers or specific massage and facial options. If you buy gift vouchers for Rs.2,500 and above, you will get one extra service like a facial or haircut for your father free.

So what are you waiting for? Go plan the day.
