Klein Blasted By Animals Rights Group Over Dui

AMERICAN PIE star CHRIS KLEIN has been slammed by officials of a leading animals rights group for driving under the influence (DUI) - with a dog in his car.

The actor was pulled over by police on Wednesday morning (16Jun10). He failed a field sobriety test and then hit the headlines.

But it’s what cops found in the vehicle that have animal rights activists fuming - and officials at the In Defense of Animals organisation are unimpressed with his irresponsible conduct.

A spokesperson for the group tells TMZ.com, “By choosing to drive under the influence with his dog in the car, Chris not only put innocent drivers in danger, but broke a promise to be a protector and guardian to his pet.”
