Matt Damon Receives American Cinematheque Award

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- ABC aired the Matt Damon tribute called “Hollywood Salutes Matt Damon” on Saturday night. Reportedly, Matt Damon was presented the 24th annual American Cinematheque Award where Hollywood biggies had flocked together to grace the occasion and congratulate their fellow star. Among the other notable celebs who were present at the award ceremony, Charlize Theron and Sarah Silverman were the center of attraction for the media.
Speaking about the 39 year old actor, Sarah Silverman man said that Matt Damon has been one of the most inspiring stars of Hollywood and that he truly deserves the award. Matt Damon was presented the award by fellow actor-director Ben Affleck. Matt Damon told the media that it’s a great honor to be the recipient of the award. He says that he considers himself lucky to be a part of Hollywood and he feels that it’s the best film industry in the whole world. Matt Damon also said that Hollywood is one single entity where people put in their brains together to carve out one single masterpiece that is both appealing as well as charming. Before Matt Damon, the other Hollywood stars who have received the prestigious award are Julia Roberts, Samuel L. Jackson and George Clooney.
The prestigious event was held at Beverly Hilton of Los Angeles. Ben Affleck’s wife Jennifer Garner refers Matt Damon as her “darling husband’s darling husband”. Speaking on the occasion she told the media how both Ben Affleck and Matt Damon has been the best buddies. She said that they both grew up together and performed high school drama together and also went ahead to win an Oscar almost at the same time.
