Former child star GARY COLEMAN has suffered a serious brain haemorrhage and is currently “on life support” in hospital, according to his manager.

The Diff’rent Strokes star was admitted to a local hospital in Utah on Wednesday (26May10) following a fall at his home. He was fully conscious after the accident but his condition gradually worsened.

He lost consciousness on Thursday (27May10) and is now being treated in an intensive care unit at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

The star’s manager John Alcantar announced the sad news in a statement to E! Online, and asked fans for their “thoughts and prayers”.

The statement reads, “As of mid-morning on May 27, Mr. Coleman was conscious and lucid. By early afternoon, Mr. Coleman was slipping in and out of consciousness and his condition worsened.

“We are saddened to announce that since mid-afternoon on May 27, 2010, Mr. Coleman has been unconscious and on life support.

“At this critical moment, we can only ask for your thoughts and prayers for Gary to make a speedy and full recovery.”
