April 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Kumaraswamy is all set to act and will be seen gracing the screens with his performance in the upcoming flick Sivakasi. He is the former chief minister of Karnataka and has also been a successful distributor and producer before trying his hand at politics. So the film industry was not an alien world to the politician who is to play the role of a chief minister in the movie.
He will be shooting for the film on April 30th and according to Director Ram Prakash his character is an important one that links the story. Ram was also thrilled to have Kumaraswamy acting in his movie and said that though he had written the scene while writing the script, little did he imagine that a real politician will be enacting the role. Things worked out well after the film’s producer Mahadevaiah got a go-ahead from the Kumarswamy. Currently the team was shooting the portions featuring Kumaraswamy in Mysore.
Along with being a successful film distributor, he has produced hits like Chandra Chakori starring Murali and also ‘Sooryamsha’ with Vishnuvardhan in the lead. He also owns the Chennambika Theatre and continued to produce films even after starting his career in politics and joining the Janta Dal headed by father H.D Deva Gowda.
The movie is to be an action thriller and stars Ajit and Manasi as the leads along with others like Sharan and Shobhraj. So all we can do is wait to see the politician experimenting with his acting skills after trying his hand at Production, Distributorship and Politics.
