Nada Prouty On CBS “60 Minutes”

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The CBS television news magazine “60 Minutes” featured the story of former FBI agent Nada Prouty last night which kept the viewers glued to the television screens. The 40 year old former CIA agent appeared in her first interview with CBS correspondent Scott Pelley since she pleaded guilty to federal charges, subsequently resulting in the loss of her United States citizenship.

In the interview that was aired last night, Nada Prouty defended her stand that she could have never done anything that can be considered to be potentially harmful for United States. All the viewers witnessed the Lebanese immigrant divulge intrinsic details of the manner in which her life had completely transformed since her citizenship was forfeited after she pleaded guilty to charges of marriage fraud. Despite the fact that Nada Prouty had been associated with the FBI and later with the CIA, she was accused of assisting in terrorist activities; the allegations which have been completely refuted by the former FBI agent in the CBS interview.

The charges that were levied against Nada Prouty included appointing a Downriver man to tie the knot with her so that she could obtain a U.S. citizenship. Moreover, she was also charged for bringing into use FBI computer system to draw out details about family members as well as a terrorism probe, which resulted in Nada Prouty being terminated from her job and losing her citizenship. Owing to the charges, she became branded as a Hizballah spy and was fined for $750, while also being ordered to be deported, which has however, been put on indefinite hold.

RE: Nada Prouty: The Federal Prosecutors should be ashamed, but it is typical of money wasted when they can’t prosecute the real terrorists. I am proud to call Nada Prouty a fellow American. They can take away a piece of paper stating her citizenship but they can’t take away the soul of an American!
