Cowell to receive Emmy for TV talent shows

SIMON COWELL is to be honoured for his contribution to television around the world - he has landed a special Emmy Award.

The music mogul will receive the International Emmy Founders Award at a ceremony in New York in November (10) for his work on the small screen with his television shows, including American Idol and The X Factor.

President of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Bruce Paisner, says, “He is an entrepreneur and a performer in equal measure. Simon Cowell has built an international empire and has changed the face of TV around the world.”

Speaking about the trophy, Cowell says he is “delighted”, adding, “I’ve been very lucky to be able to make shows I love.”
