NEW DELHI - Shopping, recipe demonstrations and expert tips on health, fitness, parenting and home management - the ongoing Good Housekeeping Show 2010 is a woman’s delight.

Women are flocking to the March 5-7 event, organised by the India Today Group, which publishes the Good Housekeeping magazine in India.

While some are heading there to get handy tips on anti-ageing, skin care, make-up and hair care, others are keen to learn how to maintain relationships, deal with adolescents, pet care, flower arrangements, stress management et al - everything to do with personal care and keeping a good home.

The annual event, which is in its third edition, is organised with an aim of bringing the pages of the magazine alive for its readers on one platform, Mala Sekhri, chief operating officer of the India Today Group’s Lifestyle Division, told IANS.

“This is a live representation of what our magazine talks about - health, nutrition, cooking tips, relationships, dcor, food, and all these things are vital to a woman’s everyday life and help her in bringing up a good house,” she said.

“It is one platform where all our readers can directly approach our columnists and experts with any of their problems,” she added.

Experts like chefs Ritu Dalmia and Marut Sikka and theatre actor Tom Alter are among the few who are conducting workshops at the event, being held at The Grand Hotel in south Delhi. Actors Raveena Tandon, Mandira Bedi, Kirron Kher and Moushumi Chatterjee graced the event and shared inspirational stories with the guests.

Sekhri said the event turns out to be productive for their consumers as well as for their own magazine.

“This is a promotional effort but one must acknowledge that it helps the guests here in many ways. They get to interact directly with the experts and when they share their queries with us, we get a better idea of what the readers want from us.

“Every time, we take feedback from the guests and use it as research material to better our magazine. And of course, this sort of an event would create a buzz about the magazine in and around Delhi,” she said.
