Lovato ‘ecstatic’ Over Clarkson Meeting

Teen star DEMI LOVATO was so “ecstatic” when she met her idol KELLY CLARKSON, she asked to hug her three times.
The Disney singer/actress has been an avid fan of the Since U Been Gone hitmaker since she rose to fame on the first season of American Idol in 2002.
Lovato is still in awe of Clarkson for keeping her personal life out of the tabloids and concentrating on her music career.
And the Camp Rock star wants to follow Clarkson’s lead by ensuring she learns from her experiences.
Speaking on British TV show Live From Studio Five, Lovato says, “I did meet Kelly Clarkson one time and I gave her three hugs, three. Once when I met her and then I was saying goodbye and I gave her another one… and then she was walking away and I was like, ‘Can I have one more?’ She’s my idol, so getting to meet her was incredible. I’ve loved her since the first episode of American Idol, so when I got to meet her I was ecstatic.
“You know, I never looked up to Kelly Clarkson because of her being perfect. I looked up to her because no matter what she went through, she had class and I feel like she stayed talented. She never was arrested or anything like that and you didn’t see her in the tabloids for dating a lot of people. She really kept low and had a really great career and I feel like, for me, I don’t feel pressure as a role model. I just want to make sure that no matter what situation I’m in I come out of it a stronger person.”
