TORI SPELLING’s mother, CANDY, is heading to Broadway - she has signed on to produce a revival of musical PROMISES, PROMISES.
Candy Spelling, the wife of late TV mogul Aaron Spelling, will be a key force behind the new production, which is based on Billy Wilder’s 1960 film The Apartment and features music by Burt Bacharach.
And she’s looking forward to branching out into an industry her famous family has yet to tackle.
She tells the Associated Press, “It’s not stepping on anyone’s toes. My husband didn’t do it, no one’s done it in our family, so this is a first. I’m really excited.”
Promises, Promises was originally staged on Broadway in 1968.
The April (10) revival is set to star former Will & Grace actor Sean Hayes, while Anne Hathaway and Zooey Deschanel have both been linked to the production.
