Bigelow To Be Honoured At Santa Barbara Film Festival

Moviemaker KATHYRN BIGELOW has been given another major Oscars boost - she’ll be celebrated at the 25th Santa Barbara International Film Festival in California in February (10).

The filmmaker’s The Hurt Locker has emerged as an early Oscars Best Film favourite and she’s among the frontrunners to land a Best Director honour.

But before the Academy Awards are handed out, Bigelow will be honoured in Santa Barbara.

She’ll be lauded as the Outstanding Director of the Year and the festival will also feature a retrospective of her films.
