SEAL’s Grammy nomination has cheered him up after he was forced to remain indoors while his whole family battles a cold.

The Kiss From a Rose hitmaker is celebrating after being shortlisted in the Best Pop Vocal category for his cover of If You Don’t Know Me By Now - and he insists not even the sore throat he and his kids are suffering can bring him down.

He says, “It’s always a strange thing to be nominated for a Grammy. Stevie Wonder is like God, Maxwell is brilliant, so to be in the same category as them is brilliant. But really it’s an excuse for my wife and I to go out on the town.

“My children were sick so I haven’t been sleeping for the past 10 days. My doctor says my vocal cords are swollen. I should be in bed but that’s boring.”

Seal’s supermodel wife, Heidi Klum, gave birth to their third child, daughter Lou, in October (09).
