Hip-hop pioneers THE SUGARHILL GANG will mark the 30th anniversary of their iconic hit RAPPER’S DELIGHT with a special honour at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

The single is widely recognised as one of the first rap songs to crossover into mainstream radio playlists; it has sold over eight million copies since its release in 1979.

The song will go down in history for its cross-over success when it’s celebrated and performed by The Sugarhill Gang during The Past, Present and Future of Hip Hop Tribute Concert in Cleveland, Ohio in January (10), reports AllHipHop.com.
