LONDON - R ‘n’ B singer Leona Lewis has cancelled a promotional tour after she was punched in the head at a recent book signing.
Lewis, 24, who was left distraught after the incident, pulled out of a trip to Germany as she admitted the attack was a “horrible shock”.
“She was due to go to Germany today for a promo but that has now been cancelled,” the Daily Star quoted her spokesman as saying.
Following the assault, she spent her time hiding in her north London home, and only answered her fans’ goodwill messages.
“Thank you so much for your support. It was a horrible shock and left me extremely hurt and upset,” she said in a statement.
“I’m very sorry to those I wasn’t able to meet at the signing. Love you all,” she added.
Lewis is still desperate to get back to work next week as she rehearses for a homecoming gig in Hackney next month.
“She is very upset but is determined not to let this ruin it for everyone,” an insider revealed. (ANI)
