LONDON - British film director Guy Ritchie, once married to pop star Madonna, is getting more eco-friendly and wants to make his country home self-sufficient.
Ritchie has plans to grow fruit, vegetables and vines in an effort to turn his 9 million pounds country home self-sufficient, dailymail.co.uk reports.
The main component of his plan is to build three greenhouses with undersoil heating provided by an eco-friendly woodchip boiler. The greenhouse will end up costing 250,000 pounds and the construction will carefully match the style and colour mix of the house.
Ritchie plans to collect rainwater from around the greenhouses and will hire another gardener to help with the extra work for the plans. Ritchie got Ashcombe House in Wiltshire as part of the divorce settlement with Madonna last year.
