End-of-the-world movie 2012 has broken box office records for a foreign release in Russia.
Director Roland Emmerich?s disaster movie has taken $30 million (GBP18.75 million) in just two weeks. The film took $12 million (GBP7.5 million) on its first weekend on release, according to Sony figures.
Daily Variety reports only Timur Bekmambetov?s Night Watch sequel, Day Watch, has scored similar box office success in its first two weeks on release - the homegrown Russian film made almost $32 million (GBP20 million) at the Russian box office in the same time frame in 2006.
